Brief

The AS media coursework task was to create a music magazine which is aimed at a demographic of my choosing (17 - 25). The music magazine should include a front cover, contents page and a double page spread.

Before creating my music magazine, I had to do some primary research into existing music magazines so that i can study the mode of address in music magazines, the way music magazines are aimed at different demographics. I had to do some qualitative audience research on the focus group so that i can have some feedback from my demographic on what i can improve on and what i should add to my music magazine. To do this i needed to create quantitative audience survey so that i can understand my demographic and see what they enjoy, create an audience profile so that i can see visually the things that they enjoy, use and like. To start constructing my music magazine i have to create rough designs of my pages and create contact sheets which show all the images i have taken and used for my magazine. To start working on the magazine i first needed to do my preliminary task which was to create a front cover and contents page for a school magazine using my own pictures.
